 I concentrate my practice around Annapolis MD, but provide service in outling areas including in the Greater Washington DC area and Eastern Shore of MD.


For the past Thirteen years, I have been honored to be part of over a hundred of women's birth experiences as their birth doula of choice, as a volunteer in home births, birth centers and hospital births. I have been certified through Doulas of North America (DONA) since 2005 and continue to support women wherever and however they choose to birth.

The birth experience is a rite of passage for many women. It has the power to be a transforming experience. I have witnessed women feeling empowered during the development of their birth plans and from experiencing a conscious, meaningful labor and delivery. I have witnessed women and partners moved to tears when their new baby finally arrives, a joyful culmination of dreams, hard work, and future hopes.  Each birth is unique, whether this is your first baby or your fifth, and each experience inherently has power to bring about a positive rite of passage for all.  

The ancient word "doula" means "with women".  I like to modernize this old term to include both the laboring mother-to-be and the new father-to-be.  I am an advocate for informed birth decisions and discovering empowerment in knowing your choices during pregnancy, delivery, and newborn care.  Doulas do not practice medicine, however, I can help guide you through open communication with doctors and nurses and refer you towards medical topics and discussions posed by reputable sources to help with your decisions.
